Hi friends,
How are ya? As you can imagine, living in New York City is always electric! Whether it’s Broadway shows, Michelin-star restaurants, or dancing until your feet hurt, this is the place to be. Nothing makes the city feel more alive than when the New York Knicks are doing well in the playoffs. I’m not even a Knicks fan, and I’m ready to paint myself orange at the thought of a championship parade.
I’m a notorious women’s sports fan, but now and again, I’ll tune into the MNBA - usually when my team is doing well. Since Miami was obliterated in the playoffs, what’s a girl to do but root for the team that plays down the street? If you’re watching the NBA playoffs, I would love to know your takes! Who are you rooting for? Better yet, who are you rooting against?
In today’s newsletter, we’ll chat about what to do if you’re laid off, makeup tutorials, and how to protect your brain health.
Let’s get into it!

Makeup tutorials are the cornerstone of girlhood. Some of us tested out our makeup before going to a frat house and drew on eyebrows that could be seen from across the party. Others of us are still learning the difference between contour and bronzer. I recently discovered Katie Jane Hughes, and no matter where you are on your makeup journey, she is a great teacher. Her YouTube videos are straightforward, beginner-friendly, and friendly. She’s like having a cool older sister who lives in Brooklyn and is a professional makeup artist.
I recently watched Thunderbolts* and my biggest takeaway is that I want to be Florence Pugh when I grow up. Promoting the Marvel movie, Florence recently sat down with Harper’s Bazaar UK and opened up about her struggles with knowing her worth. Haven’t we all been there? The interview starts off talking about fashion but dives deep very quickly. You can watch here!
