Holdette Awarded $25K Grant from Hinge's One More Hour Initiative
An initiative in partnership with DoSomething Strategic and the Foundation for Social Connection
Back in February 2021, we launched Holdette community groups to help women transition from college to adulthood. It was a tough time with the pandemic, a chaotic job market, and a lot of us feeling isolated working from our childhood bedrooms. Holdette was able to provide a welcome answer and since then, we’ve had over 1,500 new grads join our community groups, build strong friendships, and grow to call the city they find themselves in, home. Over the past three years we’ve:
Hosted 246 Holdette community groups across 29 community groups
Had a Holdette member ask someone she met through the community to be her maid of honor at her wedding
Seen multiple girls become roommates in various cities
Watched girls join pickleball, bocce, and other sports leagues together
Hosted a beautiful weekend retreat in the Berkshires for our Boston and NYC-based members
Launched the Holdette card deck to make it possible for anyone to bring the power of asking the right questions to their circles
As we look forward, I’m excited about the way the Holdette community will continue to mature, grow, and rise to meet the needs of women venturing into post-grad life. Fortunately, we aren’t tackling this mission alone.
I’m proud to announce that Hinge, DoSomething Strategic, and the Foundation for Social Connection have selected Holdette to be a part of the inaugural cohort of 40 social groups who are redefining how young adults find in-person belonging and connection. We’ve been awarded a $25K grant through Hinge’s social impact program, One More Hour, to continue our work of bringing recent grads together to find community.
This is a huge honor and milestone for our team and community, and we're eager about the impact this funding will have. We'll share more about the programming and support this grant will enable us to provide in the future. For now, we want to express our gratitude for your ongoing support, engagement, and care for the Holdette community.
With abundant gratitude,
Sarah, Cassie, and the Holdette team
