Hi friends,
How ya doing? I’m currently riding high because I got tickets to see Beyonce not once but TWICE on her upcoming tour. My Eagles won the Super Bowl this Sunday. This weekend is a long weekend. Life is worth living.
The winter can oftentimes feel like perpetual darkness. What has been sparking joy for you lately? Aside from those mentioned above, I’ve been making an effort to do things after work, and that’s helped me find little pockets of happiness every day. Today, I’m headed to trivia! I don’t think I’ll be any good, but I’ll be with my best friend, and that’s what matters!
In today’s newsletter, we’re going to talk about love! Valentine’s Day can evoke a lot of emotions, so we’ll talk about how to navigate the day if you’re single. We’ll also chat about if your partner should truly be your best friend. Finally, I’ll share some of my current hyperfixations.
Let’s get into it!

🍿 LISTEN AND WATCH
I saw an ad for the new TV show Paradise while waiting for the train. The graphic featured Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden, and I knew I had to watch. In the Hulu Original, James plays a U.S. president who is found dead in his residence. Sterling, the head of his Secret Service team, wants to investigate but is reassigned. The political thriller has had me glued to my seat for days. A new episode dropped this morning, so now is the best time to watch it!
One thing about me: I love a sports documentary! In the film Icarus, director Bryan Fogel uses himself as a guinea pig to test the effects of performance-enhancing drugs. While working with a premier scientist from Russia, the Russian doping program slowly starts to come to light. What was initially a movie about “whether steroids work” turns into an exposé on Russia's decades of tipping the scales in their athletes’ favor, often to their detriment.
