Intergenerational Friendships, Drew Afualo, Ride
Hi friends,
How are ya? Iâd be remiss if I didnât start this newsletter by congratulating the happy couple! Congratulations to Taylor and Travis on their engagement, and all my friends who are convinced they will be on the invite list for their nuptials!
More importantly, I made a love connection this weekend. I went on a day trip to Philadelphia and fell in love with every apartment I saw. Walking into my friend's apartment (read: townhouse) and learning that they pay a quarter of my rent made me reconsider my staunch âNew York or nowhereâ stance. I might be paying an obscene amount of money on my rent compared to the rest of America, but what can I say? New York City and I are endgame!
In todayâs newsletter, weâll talk about safety tips for living alone, finding your voice at work, and intergenerational friendships.
Letâs get into it!

I watched Overcompensating and made it my entire personality. As I wait for the second season to be announced, Iâve been tuning into the podcast of Benito Skinner and Mary Beth Barone. The duo played siblings on the Amazon original, but are also co-hosts on Ride. Every Wednesday, the two best friends talk about their ridiculous thoughts. Every episode is full of an endless amount of new vocal stims. I havenât stopped saying âthis girl woke up in my houseâ since Benito first said it on the pod in June. Iâm sure Travis Kelce has been saying the same since he popped the question.
Not to be a real estate executive, but being in the office does have some perks! Most recently, I had a water cooler chat with my coworker about a new movie, Lurker. I hadnât heard of the psychological thriller, but now itâs on my watchlist! In the film, a retail employee infiltrates the friend group of an up-and-coming artist. Obviously, they get too close too fast. The movie takes parasocial relationships to a whole new level. Lurker is in theaters now!
