Winter Arc, Being a Good Friend, The Holiday

Hi friends,

How are ya? I’m presently making my packing list for 30 days back home. Along with clothes and my good soaps, I also have a puzzle, Codenames, and a mini-murder mystery puzzle book. Part of my trip home involves a road trip and four days in Central Florida, so if you have any other recommendations for passing the time, please send them my way!

I want to cherish this time at home because before I know it, it will be January, and I’ll be back in the city. The new year can be scary, but at least there are Holdette Community Groups to look forward to!

For the Winter 2025 session, Community Groups will focus on time. They will focus on investing time in relationships and protecting time by setting boundaries. If this sounds good to you, sign up for a group here!

🍿  LISTEN AND WATCH 

• Part of my “see you next year” tour involved inviting my girlies over to watch The Holiday while eating pizza, for which I spent an hour on the train to pick up. While the pizza was delicious, I barely ate anything because I was thoroughly engrossed by Jude Law. He plays a single girl-dad who bumps into Cameron Diaz while she’s living in his sister’s (Kate Winslet) house. The two women do a house swap as they are both heartbroken and need a change of scenery. Hopefully, the next time I go to England, I will end up at an idyllic countryside house and meet my own Jude Law! A girl can dream.

• “We come to this newsletter for magic,” or whatever Nicole Kidman said in that AMC video. Nicole Kidman and Zendaya sat down for “Actors on Actors” in this video and talked about the sexiest movies of the year that they happened to lead - Babygirl and Challengers. I saw Challengers three times and watched the Babygirl trailer too many times to count, so this pairing feels specifically made for me. I can’t wait to watch this while waiting for my flight to board.
